12 Questions to Defining Your Business

I begin every marketing strategy by answering these critical questions. These questions should be considered on a daily basis, but be formally answered and reviewed at least semi-annually.

1. Who are we?

2. What do we do?

3. Who buys our products and services?

4. What are they really buying from us?

5. Where are our customers?

6. What is our market environment?

7. What is our selling cycle?

8. How are we better or different than our competition?

9. Why are we the best choice for our customers?

10. What obstacles do we have to overcome in our marketing plan?

11. What is our marketing message?

12. How can we communicate it on an ongoing basis?
