Teaching
from real-life experience...
A few words from Lauron
I love good business and
good marketing. That's
why it bothers me that so many people consider marketing a barrier to fulfilling
their entrepreneurial dreams and business goals. Marketing is vital to business
success. It can be so much fun and can make all the difference in whether a
business grows or stagnates, survives or thrives.
It is always very exciting
to see a business owner or a department "get" the concept of marketing
and then realize the dramatic effect it can have on their company. That's why
we continue to "stir the pot" in our own business and continue to
work hard to spread the message that marketing is necessary, fun, effective,
and easy when you integrate it into everything you do.
Always
a marketer
I had no idea that being
elected publicity chairman of my 6th grade spirit club would set the path for
my lifelong career. After that, I held many exciting titles such as Newspaper
Editor, Television Producer, TV Community Services Manager, Advertising Production
Assistant, Designer, Copywriter, Marketing Director, Marketing Consultant, Marketing
Trainer, and Business Owner. I've had the fun, excitement, challenge, frustration,
and enduring thrill of presenting services, products, and ideas in a way that
attracts someone to buy or buy into. It's what I love. It's what I have dedicated
my entire career to understanding, doing, and teaching.
Experience from both sides of the marketing fence
My consulting and training reflects over 15 years of working
in a variety of marketing roles. I have helped companies market themselves through
television, advertising, and public relations. I've been the marketing director
fighting for the causes and success of a single company. And I've started, owned,
and operated my own small business for over 10 years now, applying and depending
on the same teachings I offer my students and clients. I've witnessed good marketing
and bad. I've rolled up my sleeves and done the day-to-day grunt work. And I've
come to understand marketing firsthand from a multitude of perspectives--that
of the customer, the marketing director, the media, the business owner, and
the company depending on it all. I'm also an active observer of all the good
and bad marketing that surrounds me. All of that learning, attention, hard work,
and experience is encapsulated into the advice, trainings, messages, and products
that I offer through Sonnier Marketing.
Yep, I'm Cajun
With a name like Sonnier, you may have guessed that I'm from
Louisiana--Lake Charles, specifically. Yes, that means I'm Cajun and I love
seafood gumbo and a good zydeco beat. It also means I couldn't talk if you tied
my hands.
A love for teaching
I have a great thirst for gathering and sharing information.
I get great fulfillment from empowering others with data and perspectives that
help them positively impact their lives. Again, as a Cajun, I have to be talking
about something at all times, so I work hard to put that energy to good use.
It's not just business for me
It's about changing people and making an impact. It's
about making lives easier and more productive by making marketing make sense--by
taking away the mystery and frustration that holds people back. Everything I
teach and advise is intended to make marketing moves more confident and more
frequent. It's about helping people achieve their dreams by taking the right
steps every single day to market their business using every resource they have.
