Getting
Your Image and Identity In Sync

If
you want to stand out from the crowd, the clutter, and the competition, your
image and identity have to be in sync.
Now we all
understand the importance of projecting a good image, but that's not enough.
We also have to have the substance to back it up. That's our identity--who we
really are, our values, skills, talents, and offerings to others.
Maybe you
are a hard worker or a company with a great product or service, but your appearance
is messy. Maybe your resume, business card, or brochure is unprofessional and
full of errors. Prospects will likely be too turned off by your image to ever
give you a chance to prove your capability. On the flipside, we've all known
those who look sharp and talk a good talk, but can't deliver as promised or
expected. If either is true, your image and identity are out of sync and you
stand to lose big time!
So take
a hard look at what you're communicating. Are your image and identity telling
the same story about you? Are they telling the right story?
