Give
Them Something to Talk About
April

We
all know that word of mouth is possibly the most
powerful marketing tool we have. It can help you
reach a "tipping point" of success or,
frankly, it can kill you. So just be sure you
give the marketplace something good to talk about.
You do that by doing different things or common
things differently.
We
must remember that people love to tell stories.
Something that stands out from the normal product,
service, or way of doing business is always going
to get the pipeline going. Be superb, outrageous,
original, distinct, or even just consistent. Then
work hard to get people to experience you. Give
them a story to tell and they'll be quick to tell
it and spread it.

We must remember that people love to tell
stories. Give them a unique experience...give
them a story to tell.

Then,
to get really big results, you need to "speed
the spread." Reach out to groups instead of just
individuals. Offer incentives for customers to
buy more for their friends or bring others into
your store. Create group activities utilizing
your products or services like competitions or
events. Create or participate in blogs. Give away
samples. Do whatever it takes to get as many people
experiencing your product, service, or operation
as possible.
For
Today:
Think about something that impressed you about
a person or company so much that you felt compelled
to share your experience. What did they do different,
or what did they do differently? What can you
do different or differently to stand out, get
noticed, and get word of mouth working for you?
